An end of year treat! Seed Savers Albury-Wodonga is teaming up with the Beechworth Food Co-op for a combined event on Saturday 2 December in Stanley.
We’ll run a ‘seed saving 101’ session, followed by pot luck lunch and then take a tour of Black Barn Farm.
Come for all or part of the proceedings. Seed savers members’ participation to share their seed saving skills, tips and experience at the workshop is very welcome.
Hosted by Seed Savers Albury-Wodonga and Beechworth Food Co op at Black Barn Farm, this is the perfect place to begin (or continue) your love affair with growing your own food, contributing to biodiversity, discovery of unusual food varieties and connecting with others who are keen to explore the magic of growing your own food from scratch.
The event is free and will include a 1.5 hour session about how to save your seeds (so bring your questions and some examples if you have any). Afterwards you can share a pot luck lunch (so bring something to share) in the old apple packing shed at Black Barn Farm and then take a wander around the property with farmer Charlie who will talk you through his permaculture approach to orcharding and fruit tree propagation.
- Seed saving workshop: 10am – 12 noon
- Pot luck lunch: 12 noon – 12:30pm
