UPDATE: this event is fully booked!
The interest and response in the seed saving workshop and the guided tour of Black Barn Farm has been amazing!
If you missed out on a place, you might like to join our Seed Savers email list to hear of our next events. And to receive notification of upcoming Black Barn Farm events sign up for their seasonal updates or follow them on Instagram or Facebook.
A reminder we had to reschedule our end of year event due to a scary forecast (and can confirm it would not have worked with the weather we copped!).
Great news is we’re on for Feb 17th in Stanley, with a few tweaks to the program to accommodate the terrific response the event has had. Please ensure you register for the session or sessions that you would like to attend!
When: Between 10am and 2pm, Sat 17th Feb.
Where: Black Barn Farm, 60 Lower Nine Mile Road, Stanley, Vic.
Cost: Suggested gold coin donation to Seed Savers and contribution to pot luck lunch, if partaking!
Here’s the lowdown:
Hosted by Seed Savers Albury-Wodonga and Beechworth Food Co op at Black Barn Farm, this is the perfect place to begin your love affair with growing your own food, contributing to biodiversity, discovery of unusual food varieties and connecting with others who are keen to explore the magic of growing your own food from scratch.
The event is free and includes a 1.5 hour seed saving workshop by Seed Savers Albury-Wodonga and the opportunity to take a wander around Black Barn Farm with farmer Charlie who will talk you through his permaculture approach to orcharding and fruit tree propagation. In between you can share a pot luck lunch (so bring something to share) in the old apple packing shed at Black Barn Farm.
Farm tour and seed saving sessions will be run simultaneously in both the morning and afternoon, so you can choose to join us for just the morning, afternoon or both.
- Morning seed saving workshop or farm tour: 10:00 – 11:30
- Pot luck lunch: 11:30 – 12:30
- Afternoon seed saving workshop or farm tour: 12:30 – 2:00
Please don’t book yourself into a seed saving workshop and farm tour that run at the same time, seemingly many people believe they can actually be in two places at the same time. We’d love you to attend both, just make sure you book one in the morning and one in the afternoon, not both at the same time.
